Here's what we know: it sticks to neodymium magnet but isn't a magnet itself, weighs nearly 3 grams less than it should, silvery edge, altered/filled mint mark. We're interested in hearing your thoughts on what is going on with this bicentennial Eisenhower dollar.

I'm wondering if this Ike dollar got plated with Nickel or something (since Nickel is magnetic). I'm no expert, so we'll have to see what the other members think. They'll chime in a little later once the sun rises up.
Errers and Varietys.
Rest in Peace

Silvered edge is mimicking a 40% silver Ike (MS) which should be 24.4gr, WAYYYY under weight meaning a Shanghai Shammy, a fake Ike, not silver not Ike, not US, but counterfeit. What's the source?

Mintmark's a joke too! 100%, cast by the effect, injection molded?

I'd pay more for the fake than for the real thing (if that were legal).

Very neat black book item.

Thanks all. This coin was definitely made to look like a real 40% Ike but thought it also might be a coin for magic tricks. It'll go in our "For educational purposes only" drawer with the fake Perth Mint bars, counterfeit Morgans and Cap & Ray pesos.

Unusual. From the comments of others, I guess it is fake.

Sometimes coins are cast. You can see the sand grains on the coin:
