You should include the date, mintmark, and the denomination in your titles.

Why Topic Titles are Important

The title of your topic is very important. Let's say you need help attributing an 1896 Morgan Dollar....

  • Horrendous: Help!

  • Bad: Need help with coin

  • Better: Need help with Morgan Dollar

  • Good: Need help with 1896 Morgan Dollar

  • Awesome: Need help with VAM on 1896 Morgan Dollar

This enables the members with expertise pertaining to your question to easily find and answer your question. The title of the topic also becomes the title of the topic's web page, which enables us to attract more collectors to the site. The more members we have, the more we learn.

Yes is a silver color.
its absolutely flawless.
I dont know what to make of it.
It's part of an inherited collection that I have added to my own collection I am slowly going through it trying to itemize what I have. Constantly finding new and exciting things like this. I don't know if it has been plated. What I do know is the coins I received haven't seen the light of day in over 50 years, So if it was plated it was a long time ago?

Maybe it's been painted with silver paint?

Clearly new (or almost new) when it was altered. Just a bit of mischief - paint is a good guess.

Absolutely not paint.
when you look closely through a loop you can see there is nothing added to the surface like pain would add. not even the most minut amount.
Possible electro plating..
if so it's done very well.

If that is the color of that coin, I'd say plated.
