Hi, Just wondering if anyone is interested in Vatican coins. They are one of my favorites due to the history and interest in the country. Here is a pic of a set I picked up many years ago.

I am only after vatican euro coins. I do however like vatican coinage...maybe partly because I am intreged about the treasures housed in the Vatican.

I am fortunate enough to be on the Vaticans customer list but find it very very difficult to keep Vatican coins (I have a few) as the secondary market is so strong at this time. We have some Vatican silver euros here and the 2005 proof set, which is absolutely beautiful, but most other items have been sold to collectors all over the world who are quite frankly willing to pay ridiculous amounts of money for the coins. I started collecting the euro when it was released in 2002 and have had a real good time in this area of collecting. Just purhased a French 1 1/4 silver commemorative from 2003 this morning for far less than it cost at release! That doesn't happen very often so I jumped on it! I have friends in Europe who send rolls of one cent and Two Cent almost every year and those will never be opened, at least, not by me in this lifetime! Actually the Euro is what really opened my eyes to world coins and I have gone crazy ever since!!!

I too collect euro coins. I am in the process of building a complete circulation euro set (in unc). The vatican, monarco and san marino seem to be the wallets breakers.

FYI I had two vatican UNC sets. The above one just sold on ebay for $49. Not a bad price, I think I will be more then happy to keep my other one.

Hi Carl, Where in the world you been? I am glad to see I am not alone on my quest for the Euro, especially the silvers, as more and more collectors in the U.S. are getting on board! KLD and Bigfella, I have always, since 2002, taken every coin offered to me by the collectors (and now friends) in Europe. I have passed all the extras I receive on to other collectors at my exact cost! And, I pay the shipping as I see no need for the unc's to lie around here gathering dust if I don't need them. And, as always, I entertain all request for trading as thats what got me into the collecting habit in the first place!

Mike, I'm glad I CAN do some postings again I hope I will have my last antibiotics this week, on thursday I get to hear if my longs got clean again, so I can get a little bit back to normal live again, and get back a little wait in my body (lost over 10 kilo in 3 weeks time). Greetings, Carl
