Not sure if this is considered a World coin or a US coin so moderators please feel free to move it if needed.

Just wanted to share this very thoughtful gift from my wife. Yesterday was our wedding anniversary and she surprised me with this. It fits right in with my US minted world coin set I am putting together.

It is my first coin from the Kingdom of Hawaii.

Thanks for looking...Mont.
Rest in Peace

Mont...

I am so envious. That sounds petty and childish because it is but I'm not going to lie.

The coin is simply beautiful. I have wanted one forever but would not settle for one in poor condition or little to no eye appeal.

I personally would not consider it a US coin. This is purely opinion as I am completely ignorant on the topic.

What an incredibly thoughtful, classy, sweet, and appropriate gift for a wedding anniversary. You are a lucky guy!

It's not a US coin, it was issued by an independent Kingdom.

1. Beautiful coin!
2. Neat idea to build a part of your collection around world coins made at U.S. mints. I am so used to thinking of Hawaii as part of America that it took me a minute to wrap my head around how this coin fits
3. I showed your post to my wife and she gives you both a big thumbs up.

An added personal note. We were in Hawaii for some vacation in March, and stayed in a hotel on Kalakaua Ave. in Honolulu and visited the Iolani Palace, learning a bit about his reign. It all tempts me to seek out a Hawaii coin, but it simply doesn't fit with any part of my collection, so I have resisted (so far ).
