Recently obtained this coin.. I know it's not a REAL 1929 $5 gold piece because of a stamping in the center of the reverse side.
Would like to know who made this coin and is it maybe gold plated.
Est value.
3 pics, one being the close up of the stamping that to me is unidentifiable.

If nothing else it's a "Perty Coin" :)

Need accurate weight, diameter and thickness, to get an idea if solid gold or gold plated.

to the Community!

I believe this is a replica (as opposed to something fake). The stamp might be where it said COPY and was altered.

Is there any lettering on the edge? Sometimes there's a clue there.

And what is the thing between IGWT and the eagle's tail?

Thanks for the responses...

My scale is not at all one that would be used for commerce but it shows 9 ounces
the diameter is 1.581 in (40.15mm) and thickness is .102 in (2.6 mm)

When I saw that stamp in the center I felt it was a replica also but again, cannot make out any design there.

that character under "Trust" and above the tail appears to be some sort of logo. I'll attach a picture of that here too. There is no markings on the edge.

Yeah.. acording to my small postal scale I have.. It is quite heavy and has a clear ring to it when dropped on a hard countertop.. I know that in itself doesn't mean much but at least its not a lead filler inside.. :)

Let me retract that 9 oz statement... the scales decimal point was not working... that would be s more believable .9 oz ( point nine )

It's copper with a thin layer of gold. Looks like it was made by the American Mint. Here was another one:
