I found this Jefferson nickel this evening and am wondering if I can get your opinions on the grade. The color is very close to what it looks like in hand.

XF50 straight, original skin, came outta a collection dump for sure, sad.

I believe the chin bone and above the eye are keeping it out of MS so I say AU-58. But I would definitely listen to the members who already posted they really know their coins. I think every coin is a beauty.

Over the prior 3 months I've gone through approx 28,000 early 1960's nickels and yet I still don't qualify myself as a grading expert. However, I do know I tried many times to take good photos but with no success. My coins in hand under 5x mag always look 1000 percent nicer than what shows in my photos and my guess is that is what we are seeing here in your photo.

What's with the two "XF50" grades? Is 50 not "AU"? Just curious.
