What do you think? It's kind of hard to see it's so bright.

Strange that an expensive coin is unslabbed.

Tough to tell if the coin has hidden flaws. This seller is known to be adept at showing coins in their best light. I've bought from this seller when the price was right but only because they have a good return policy and there is little risk if you are unsatisfied. You will probably need to purchase the coin and post your own pictures to get a good assessment.

Looks like something is going on in the right obverse field. Can't tell much beyond that.
Rest in Peace

and will add that this seller has quite the following and it can be difficult to win an auction at a reasonable price.

Great Southern Coins is known to sell cleaned or damaged coins. Their photos are taken as to hide flaws in the coin. I recommend you not purchase this coin,

I cannot provide an accurate grade from GSC's photos. It could be a proof or a highly polished business strike.

As stated seller is notorious for doctoring pics to show the best possible coin when in reality it is usually too good to be true. Tread cautiously

I wouldn't buy from this outfit or even attempt to grade anything they're offering.

Edges look like a proof. I would not buy from this seller. Has a reputation of selling cleaned and damaged coins.
I bought a 1908-S Indian that was claimed to be AU but actually was a cleaned VF. They refunded my money with no problems.

This thread reinforces my justification to myself as to why I don't buy slabbed coins.

I really like to examine every coin in hand myself, and preferably 'raw', before deciding to buy. If it needs sophisticated protection, it goes into a screw acrylic capsule.

Have to agree with everyone re: GSC. Learned a lesson the hard way in the days when retaliatory negative feedback was the norm, when you received a coin that looked NOTHING like the photo, flaws hidden or photoshopped, altered lighting, etc. Never again.

Mike, one thing that may confuse some is that Great Collections is NOT Great Southern Coins which is the epitomy of photo-doctored per lighting coins. Current thread:
