I recently purchased a lot of coins from India's Princely States. Included was a copper coin in a 2x2 labeled Tomara Raja. So far I have been unable to find any information on who or where Tomara Raja actually is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tomara -
"Lineage: Suryavansha (solar clan)
Original kingdom: Karnataka in south India
Colour of throne, sign and canopy: Green *Colour of horse: Yellow
Heraldic sign (Nishan): Hanuman on flagpole*
Clan goddess (Kuladaivat): Jogeshwari *
Devak (Clan object): Umbar (Ficus racemosa tree)
Guru: Parshar *
Gotra: Nikam *
Veda: Yajurveda *
Mantra: Gayatri mantra
Surnames:- Kukde, ..."

"Raja" is usually translated as "King".
So, my guess is that your coin relates to the King of the Tomara Clan, "... which formed part of the Maratha Empire which covered a major part of India in the 17th and 18th centuries."

Also: "... The Tomar or Tanwar is a northwestern India clan of the Chandravanshi Rajputs. Tomars/Tanwars claim descent from Arjuna, the hero of Indian epic Mahabharata, through his son, Abhimanyu, and grandson, Parik ...",
but there is another line of Tomars, and I'd only be guessing which one, if either, might be the one you're interested in.

I suspect "Tomara Raja" might be somebody's translation of the text, rather than an identification of a particular ruler or state. We might be able to hep narrow down the search with a pic, so...

I thought that I could get away being lazy and not including pics.

The coin on the right is the one in question. The one on the left is another that I can't identify. The 2x2 that it was in was labeled Ishvaku, but I'm thinking it may be from Mysore:

I'd hate to sound ungrateful, but, can we have better pics?

The elephant on the left one does make me think Mysore, especially the 1700's types with the Kanarese numerals on the back, but I can't be sure. I can't make out enough detail on the other one to know where to start.

I found this coin on Zeno.ru:

I think it may be the second coin.
