I hope this is the proper place for this . I just received 6 rolls of nickels that have some kind'of slime on them. They are all stuck together . They will pull apart,But I'd rather just soak them in soap/water or acetone to get the gunk off. But there was a bright side. There was a 57' Wheat cent in one of the rolls! So how would you go about cleaning this funk off of them? Thanks for any advice!

Slime is always fun (I say sarcastically )

I wonder what it is. Maybe someone spilled a McDonald's shake on them at the bank.

First thing I'd do is an acetone soak.

Water alone might do the trick. Not sure it's a good thing to have a nickel replaced by a Wheat cent....
