XF40 If the picture is accurate regarding the shade of gray in hand (and not shiny), then looks nice!

That's a good looking coin. I always like the mid-grade coins with contrast like this one.

 A great point. I think this applies to a lot of coins. While I like to have a minty specimen for each coin type I own, I think some of the most attractive coins are middle grade ones. You still maintain a lot of the details in these grades but you also get a nice aged look with the coin (contrast, toning, etc.). Very nice!

EF40, if it was cleaned its was decades ago and the coin would most likely grade straight today

I have a 1918 just like yours but probably VF grade. Your coin is worth possibly $80 dollars or a bit more.
