Being mainly a Canadian collector I find myself on http://www.coinsandcanada.com a lot for a variety of reasons. To better determine a grade, to see if I have a known variety, to find the current trending value, or just for completely random information about the coin and it's history.

I have a large, older collection of US, UK, Israel, and German coins that I am starting to breathe life back into. I was wondering if there were any (which there of course must be) resources for other countries that are as detailed and helpful? With the help of Google I have been able to find some helpful resources, but I have yet to find an all-in-one solution with as much in depth detail as what we have for Canadian coins.

So I am looking to the community for help. What resources do you use as your one-stop-shop for whatever country you focus on?

I'm fairly new so I don't use much at this point beyond Numista for coin identification and basic info.

For the best book resource on U.K. coins I suggest
Coincraft's 1998 Standard Catalogue of English and U.K. coins 1066 to Date.
Krause Publications, 717 pages. ISBN 0 95262228 23.

Of the same size as other Krause large reference books.
May have to troll through ebay and auction sites to find a copy, and that could take some time. They were going to do a second edition of this book, but never got around to it.

I also have a fairly extensive collection English and U.K. coins from pre Roman to about 1940, because they were the progenitors, then actually part of Australian coinage history from 1825, (when Sterling was declared to be Australian coinage), until 1910, when Australia has it's own distinctive Pounds, Shillings and Pence currency.
