bjorn New Member United Kingdom 24 Posts	Posted 06/05/2018 3:24 pm Hello all, I was looking to sell this 8 reales amongst other coins, but wanted to make sure I described it correctly as I suspect it may be a contemporary counterfeit. In particular, the odd greyish corrosion like residue on the reverse and spidery lettering on the reverse seem odd. Any of those knowledgeable with this series able to give any advice? Something the counterfeiters had problems getting right...Also the edge looks too flat on parenthesis, should be sharper. And no dots between them either. From swamperbob's never ending knowledge, the edge is the first thing to look at on forgeries. Would like to see him comment, but haven't seen anything from him lately. Report this Post to the Staff
