Hey All
Recently picked up this Celtic coin from 20-1 BC, Andoco 1/4 stater.

I do not have a good guide on Celtic, just what I find on Wildwinds or other sites.

I am pretty certain it's legit, and the shop I picked it up from is open to a return if it comes back otherwise.

It's tough to get my envy bug jumping, but that beauty does. Exceptional historical artifact.

Very nice pick-up. I have watched these come and go in multiple auctions, but have not (yet) bid on one.

Lovely coin. And thoroughly jealous!
From the two images I have (in ABC and Divided Kingdoms), it's spot on:

- ABC 2718 (Ancient Britich Coins)
- Divided Kingdoms coin 532 (John Sills)
- Spink 263

And from Divided Kingdoms, the weight range is 1.20-1.39gm, with most of those being in 1.30-1.39gm area.

Divided Kingdoms (published 2017) has 52 of them listed, so it's not 'very rare' as ABC suggests (published 2010), but still scarce/rare.
ABC is the older reference and finds continue to come in from detectorists - which is good for the understanding of dies, lineage, etc, but will inevitably increase numbers. Hopefully the more that are found, the more people will appreciate Celtic coins, the prices will hold their own.
How can you not like a 2,000 year old gold coin?!
