I was just wondering if maybe I could get a few questions answered here. IS there a difference in value depending on the color of the seal? Is there a difference in value depending on who has signed the bill? Is there a difference in value if it has a star instead of a letter? I dont have a lot of bills and silver certificates but id o have some and have no idea of their value. Is there a site that can explain the differences in bills and things like that? thanks for any info malissa 1953A 1928G 1928D 1928F 1957 SILVER CERTIFICATE (STAR) 1957 SILVER CERTIFICATE Edited by malissadawn 07/08/2008 11:30 pm

Hi Malissa,
To answer all of your questions in no particular order:
Yes
Post some pictures like you have been doing in the coin grading section, and I will tell you what I know.

Those are fine for now. I will take a look at these tonight when I am home with my books. Maybe someone else will come along and help prior to then. You are more than welcome.

I'm interested on what tights24 says about these too. I saw you have "Red Seals" too Malissa !!.....those are nice ones !
There are many color seals from the "old days"........ Yellow, Red, Black, Blue, Brown........all kinds......
Yours are very collectible......at least know that for now !!......Very Nice !

Ok. 1st note: 1953-A Priest/Anderson signatures in VG condition is $6, Fine condition is $6.50. I wouldn't put this note over fine. It may fall into VG range, but the price isn't that big of a difference. 2nd note: Looks like series 1928. Can't quite make out the sigs but I'm guessing they are Clark and Snyder since the others don't quite fit. EF condition is about $20, Uncirculated only takes it to $35. 3rd note: Series 1928-D with Julian and Morgenthau. VF value of $17.50 4th note: Looks like 1928-F, Julian/Snyder. F condition at $15, VF at $20. I'm thinking a chance at VF. 5th note: Series 1957 Star note Silver Cert with Priest/Anderson sigs. Lots of these out there. VF value at $4.00. 6th note: Series 1957 Silver Cert with Priest/Anderson. EF value at $3.50 Certainly not any humdingers in the lot, but all very nice and worth keeping.

You're welcome Malissa. That's why this place is called the Coin Community Family. Quote: where would I be without you? Probably searching for info elsewhere on an inferior forum.

I have added the years on there now. First one is 1953. I wish I could figure out how you got your pictures to show up so big like that. That's awesome

Malissadawn, I scan at 600 DPI then upload to the free service https://www.tinypic.com. After posting it give you the IMG link that you past here. (You dont have a size limit there)

With the $2 Red Seals, it all depends on the Series and Signatures(different sginatures come with different series). Tights24 has gotten the pricing and grading narrowed down to a science it looks like for you. Those figures are about right.

just a little information that some people don't know even though its written on the bills, the different color of seal usually means its a different type note, like Red seal means its a US Note instead of a Federal Reserve Note, Gold seal is that well its a gold note that could be exchanged for that amount of gold
