2016 Ft. Moultrie Quarter Die Chips

I chimed in on Varieties and Errors post a day or so ago on these quarters and didn't include pics. I was merely trying to bring a little more info about die chips locations on these. There's 3 main areas to look. The soldiers LH shoulder, his hands and in the sails of the boats. His forearm and bicept have some also but are hard to capture in pics on this coin.

Yes those are die chips, they seem to be pretty common on the Fort Moultrie quarters.

Die events. If you had four of these, you'd have a dollar worth of "interesting " coins. As mentioned, die chip on the single squeeze dies are common. Often to or three can eventually be seen on the same die. We'll have to have a thread to see how many chips a die must have before it is retired? There is probably a number they use as a guide?
