Is This 1846 Large Cent Real?

Flea market find, got it at a good price because of the wear and discoloration, but I'm wondering if it's actually a fake. I weighed it and measured it with digital calipers:

Weight: 10.62 grams

Diameter: 27.63 mm

It also has a weird line on the rim I took a picture of.

Sweet! I was hoping it'd turn out to be real. It's a bit roughed up but this is the first large cent I've been fortunate enough to own, So it's pretty to me, hah. Thanks for the replies all

It looks to be in reasonably good shape to me.........
it's round !

You don't get that with ancient coins ! (I collect those as well.)


I picked my first Large Cent many decades ago; it is in about the same condition as this one.

Yours is real as well.
