Hi All,

I have begun to seriously search penny rolls in search of mint error's and variety's.

I purchased these 2 items off the bay to begin. Let me know your opinion of them and if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them. Thanks.

Here are the items I purchased:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/40X-Magnif....m2749.l2648

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Truweigh-D....m2749.l2648

I also have been researching the error's and variety's that can be found by using of course this forum's postings but also http://www.lincolncentsource.com and http://www.coppercoins.com. If there are any other websites and/or written publications or articles that would be helpful this too is appreciated.

ST

Scale;0.01 is better than 0.1 and 0.001 is even better but cost more.
Magnifier;A jewelers loupe is what most of us use.A Hastings triplet is best. B&L Hastings 12x or 14x is what I use along with a 14x doublet.
Sites;3rd post down http://goccf.com/t/119631#1031398
Also a good light source. I use a swing arm type lamp with a 35 watt CFL in it.

I find both cuds-on-coins and error-ref.com very useful.

I also use a B&L Hasting 14x which works great but is on the expensive side.

Doubleddie.com is a great resource for varieties

I actually just purchased that same magnifier for the same purpose. So far I can't complain. Does a nice job and I like the fact that it uses 3 AAA batteries instead of those pain in the butt button types my first loupe used.

Happy Hunting!
