It looks cut and edge smoothed. Maybe there was a bezel it had to fit into. Or a belt buckle for like a rabbit or something.

A details coin , out of round . Multiple rim issues . Also a scratch on face ,not a fan .

Here's a good spare time project. Make a ring out of a silver coin.

I found one of these partially completed in a junk bin, kind of like your square dime. It was made by the first method - hammering the rim until it mushrooms to form the ring. The center of the ring hasn't been cut out, so the image of the monarch (Leopold II of Belgium) is still there.
