Here's an image of the new America the Beautiful Quarters Program 25-cent piece for Voyageurs National Park in Minnesota.

Now the US has its very own "loonie" coin!

Is it just me or is it odd that a "Loon" was selected for the "Voyageur" coin; not a canoe in sight.

See the island in the background with the three trees, that's on the Canadian side of Rainy lake opposite Voyageurs National Park. On the other side of that island the voyageurs of our dollar are paddling by.

Maybe they went with the loon for a Voyageurs coin because the master tools were lost in transit?

Loons are not ducks. They are classified separately.
