Is it time for glass ladybug version 2.0? It's been a few years, I would figure the recycling of old designs is overdue by current standards.

I might agree with Redzapsid - the Mint could think about aligning the mintage of the 2011 Ladybug to the subsequent coins and to mint additional let's say 3000-5000 coins. It will be identical coin, but dated "2018" - so yes, v2

Quote: so yes, v2 You mean v3. Don't forget the 2015 reissue of the original 5 coins in 9999 gold with a $250 face value. Sold only as a set for $18,750 (9.66 oz gold). A lovely set, limited mintage of 100 sets though Charlton reports 99 sold. The current price of gold has almost caught this set ($16K+/-). You never see these on the secondary market... At least I haven't.

They could go several ways with the new ladybug coin. Keep the same design and change the date from 2011 to 2018. Or more likely, some variations. Like gold plating, selected gold plating, different background, instead of tulip a different flower, etc. And higher image. The RCM seem to be found of recycling coin themes. According to the TSC coin show there will be another puzzle coin.

Thanks for the info. No new coin on RCM's website yet. Maybe phone order through rep at this moment.

Nothing online - as expected - this was an advance alert, as my level is Platinum Prestige, I'm guessing it'll be sold out before public release. None for me though.

Not sure about the sell out but I did stump up for a set. I am a sucker for large format coins and I always liked the design of the first three. While I was not in a financial position to do anything back in 2015, I regret missing out on V2 of these coins... Not that I could buy in today either; they actually do represent an investment with ROI unlike this V3 set I presume.
This qualifies in the "Collect what you like" category.

@jimper. Yes & no. I also ordered via my Rep as Platinum Prestige; I am waiting for his confirmation though. The Item number on the email is 166490 but when I use that on mint.ca it returns not-found.

Thanks for the info vonigohcr. I just called the RCM and placed my order. The info I received from the guy I placed my order from said that the item wont be display on their site for another 2 weeks or so. I took the 6 easy pays. Only 850 sets is a very low mintage, glad I got my set ordered.

This set will probably be on the shopping channel June 30th, 2018.
