Also after looking through the forum I'm wondering why this coin looks so copper colored ? Could it be a fake ?

Constantine the Great, GLORIA EXERCITVS, soldiers with two standards. Too common to fake; it was just cleaned with acid.

Too bad it has been very harshly cleaned.

Hopefully your son has sparked an interest in collecting.

Im trying to narrow it further from the "Gloria Exercitvs" using the Tesorillo site. would it be a Constantinvs II Ivnior?
AE3 But not sure on the NIK,HER or SIS ? Has the coin been ruined by the acid cleaning and thus has no value ?

No, it's Constantine I (the great), if you look at the legend on the right you will see the letters MAX AVG. That was only used on Constantine I coins.
