Hi, thanks to all who contributed with my last coin ident. I do have another one that has me stumped. I remember the last time I tried to identify it, I spent hours researching and nothing came up. Can someone help with this.
The bronze coin size isn't round anymore but the width is 17mm and the weight is 5.5 grams, probably use to be 6 grams. I can't make out any words on the front with the nice looking bust. The reverse has some letters and a figure, maybe 2, hard to tell. The letters are to the right of what looks like a nude with an outstretched hand.
Hi, thanks, with your information I found a real good likeness on Wildwinds. Sorry about the pictures, I don't know how to make them bigger and I thought that the rule was small pictures.
The weight doesn't seem completely right, but there may be some variation with bronze coins. It could be an AE from Sardes, Menoitos, Magistrate on the obverse, Heraklès on the reverse. This exemplar from CNG is 15 mm and 7,74 g.
