Has anyone ever seen a 1972 Lincoln Penny that the S in trust is a 5? or even heard of it? in the picture the penny on the left is the one I believe to have a 5 replacing the S.

It looks quite normal and does not look like a 5.

Of course it could be a new type of coin produced in a place called Tru 5 t. Or just lots of imagination.

To CCF! That's called Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint). It's not an error or a 5. Worth face value, because it's damaged.

The letters haven't been punch into a die since 1908. Since then they are all part of the hub that passes the information to the dies. The mint marks were added until 1989. Then in 1990 the design for the mint mark was also part of the hubs design. So there is not chance this is a 5. It was an 'S' then was altered by a coin hit. The coin has been in the wild for over 46 years. Its bound to take a klunker or two.
