Errers and Varietys Bedrock of the Community United States 74770 Posts	Posted 06/16/2018 8:04 pm To CCF! Unfortunately, this isn't an error. This is Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint). This is called Zinc Rot. It happens when the Copper plating breaks, causing the Zinc core to get exposed. Over time, air reaches to the Zinc, causing the Zinc to slowly rot and break down. As we know, Zinc isn't tough material. Errers and Varietys. Report this Post to the Staff
