VF-30+, and may be XF in hand. ALWAYS crimp your staples over.... more coins have been ruined by staples not flattened out than any other reason, since they scratch the coin that it's placed against.
VF30 Though grading of circulated Canadian coins is based mostly on obverse wear this particular coin has just too much wear on the reverse for EF. Scratch on the lower left reverse will be noted and affect value.
Reasonably priced flat-clinch staplers are available at Staples, on ebay and pretty much anywhere else office supplies are sold. Don't use anything else.
