Picked this up this week and would like to know what you think. I thought the coin was scratched on the face but when I looked at under the Steroscope its not. Could someone explain the markings on the front of this coin to me.

I hope those "scratches" enabled you to negotiate down the price
If you ask me, they appear very much to be "woodgrain" planchet alloy streaks--common to Lincolns of this period.
It's not damage as far as I see As far as grade, I'll guess VF20.

I'd say VF.

It's very nice....Kurt is yanking your change, I believe that's just woodgraining and not scratches. LOL

The wheatheads are just a little worn (boarderline EF) and there's cheek/jaw separation, VF30-35.

EDIT - Thanks for posting a Lincoln, I've been getting withdrawls lately. Just wait till next week, I'm going to post some killer Lincolns!

"Yanking"? LOL...I hope I made my thoughts clear--looks problem-free to me.
I was also suspecting a better grade from details on the reverse.
