I have a 1983 LMC that weighs 2.34 grams. Is this normal or a Mint error & why?
Rest in Peace

The "recommended" (not go to jail law) is a tolerance of 2.5gr +/- .13gr. Is very normal for a coin, a thinner clad layer? A thinner core? Rolled thin planchet stock? Circulation wear? Take your pick.

Pictures would be great. It would help us more. Although, 2.3 grams is well within the U.S. Mint tolerance.
