Hello everyone. My name is Katelyn and I'm new to this forum, sort of. I come to this site often to look up information or see other's penny's but I just registered today. Anyways, I have a 1975 LMP and the G in God on the obverse looks odd but I'm not exactly sure what it is, if anything. I'm still trying to learn everything and theres a lot to learn so any help would be greatly appreciated!

To CCF! What you're seeing on the "G" from "IGWT" is a well placed hit, causing the metal to get pushed over and flattened. This is Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint).

with both statements. Your coin has minor damage from circulation and this is a great place to learn about coins and the hobby in general.

I agree with all above posts. Just a FYI: it is LMC not LMP. It is a cent not a penny. Stick around and I am sure you will learn a lot, enjoy.
