Hi, new here. Found you through a Gooogle image search. Have been trying to identify a coin my son found in Bisbee, AZ (an old copper mining town) while hiking. It is less than an inch in diameter at its widest.

This seems a "pirate coin" to me, a modern replica of a Spanish cob.

Correct; it's a mass-produced replica Spanish 8 escudos, or "pirate doubloon". Genuine coins are made of gold, which this coin clearly is not. In this old thread, you can find identical-looking coins, with the exact same shape and oddities in the design.

If you check that link, you will see that the 'coin' is exactly the same. Handstruck coins will be unique.
