Obviously I can't list links to coins I sell but every so often I perceive something so interesting I have to ask you folks about it. No ID on this Very Thick 24.5mm, 10.50 g Owl? with Apollo or Even Tanit? Is it obvious? If so forgive the question and tell me to study more.

I'm probably wrong, but I was think maybe Troas-Sigeion I've seen smaller fractions of a unit. Might be a full unit, anyway just a guess.

Well I am proud that I only asked for something really hard to figure out!
As for Troas-Sigeion I thought of that but it is such a big bronze I can't find a match. Nothing anywhere near this size. This may be one we never figure out sadly folks.

It could very well be an owl and Athena, and the size matches an Attic tetradrachm, but the metal should be silver, of course, and the weight is wrong. I don't see any bronze of this size with an owl... Sorry not to be able to help you more...

Any chance we are just leading each other down the wrong path and this is not an owl? Like a horse or bull's body just struck low on the flan? Turn the coin of course.

Or maybe (to ancient67) this is just what remains of an ancient fouree owl of Attic that was once plated with an additional grams of silver? But to have no traces at all of silver is odd as well.

I had been thinking this too for a time yesterday (I noticed that, flipped, there appears to be a hind quarters at left), and for a while was looking at Lucania Athena/Bull AE's - typically AE30's or thereabouts, I believe.

The OP coin would have to be on a very tight flan, with a die shift for the reverse. But it is a possibility, something like:
