This penny has only the faintest suggestion of a 1 as the last digit of the date. I'm not sure it is a 1, but that is my best guess.

It was Struck Through a small amount of Grease (AKA Grease Filled Die). Not enough to have a premium over face value though. http://www.error-ref.com/struck-thr...-grease-oil/

sill a fun find...
i have a small plastic coofe grounds container - that I have simply labeled C.O.I (coins of interest). Grease Filled Dies, cracks, breaks, ... thinsgs of that sort...

your would make it into my C.O.I container...
