Ok I am presuming this is all PMD. I don't see how this can happen during the striking process. The only things that make me wonder are 1. The thinness of the coin. 2. Why would someone go to this extent to alter a coin. I don't see it as a Dryer Coin. Just interesting.
It's definitely Post Strike Damage. Someone decided to take their anger out on it. It was probably hit hard with a hammer, causing the metal to get pushed over and flattened.
