I found this in a circulated bankroll. from a bank box of U.S. Pennies. Is this a true Mint error or was it done after it left the U.S. Mint? I'm wondering, because it was found in circulated roll from the bank, not in a BU roll. Any help would be great and appreciated.

Thank you Chase007, Coop, and Chronoswiss for your input. I've read that article you've provided Coop, but I'm still unsure if it's Post Strike Damage or not.

I figure that if I find one in an OBW rolls of coins from that year and find one there, then it should be the real things. Otherwise, they were probably altered.

Coop, I was thinking that it could of been altered, but I'm not sure exactly though. I will PM Mike Diamond on this one, and I'll see what he thinks.

Both the 2015 and the 2014 cent show pre-strike planchet damage. We can tell this is the case because the design rim is fully formed rather than abraded and reduced in height. That said, as with nearly all cases of peripheral pre-strike planchet damage, the highest part of the rim does preserve subtle signs of damage because effective striking pressure was lower here.

Thank you very much Mike Diamond for your response and for answering my questions! I appreciate it. Definitely an interesting error coin.
