2005 D Nickel Error W Extra 0 - Coin Community Forum

SilverAnt New Member United States 36 Posts	Posted 06/29/2018 12:45 am Has anyone else come across an error like this one on a 2005 D Nickel? An extra zero near Jefferson's chin and some fading on the lettering, particularly on "Liberty". Any ideas to it's possible worth/value? Report this Post to the Staff

Fuzzy317 Moderator United States 14463 Posts	Posted 06/29/2018 12:51 am The Liberty and the last part of the date appear to be caused by a Grease Filled Die. The extra 0 looks recessed, that could mean the impression is from another coin or by someone counter stamping it. Report this Post to the Staff

I think you have a Dropped-Letter error, caused by hardened grease falling out from the dies crevices.
