I'm sorry to kind of steal this topic away from you, chrsb. But I thought since we're already talking about small dates it would be unecessary to make a new topic.

I found this in circulation just searching my tip change. If this isn't a small date I don't know what is. You guys decide.

Elimist- Looks like a small date to me. The 9 is lower than the one and the upper tip of the 6 stops short of being vertical with the outer right curve.

As for the pic it was a quick free hand shot. I just set the camera to macro mode and pressed the button.

See, my camera has a macro mode as well, but not a very good one. It won't get me close at all to something as small as a coin.

After about 30 minutes of messing with the camera, and then messing with the scanner, I popped out those pictures. I figured out how to change the scanning resolution so its set super high and makes a picture thats not too great but I'm quite pleased with.

Ah, my first variety coin. It feels good, real good. I finally have something to put in that "variety" spot in my whitman folder.

So whats a 1960 small date monatarily worth? I can't find anything with a quick google search. I'm expecting like, fifty cents or something.

The 1960-D small date only carry a very small premium, there were a lot of those minted compared to the 1960-P. Nice find though, it almost looks as if it also has a RPM (re-punched mint mark) there are numerous ones for you date, take a closer look at the "D".
