Hello, I've been absent from the forum and coin searching for a little while but decided it's time to come back. I found this nifty half CRHing about a year ago, it's so worn I can' only see part of the date, even using a lupe. Is there something I can do to read the date? The one number that is somewhat visible looks like a 1, but depending on light can also resemble a 0. Sorry for the size, I thought I got it smaller than that.
Any kind of acid etching like for nickels wouldn't work on the softer silver/copper alloy...would just esat the little there away. On some slick SLQ's, you may see a smidgen of a date by taking soot off your car tailpipe...?
