Not a Close AM only have the one picture right now of you like at the 9's and the 2 you can clearly see doubling just don't know if its the real deal but as far as I can tell it is.

On John Wexler's site he lists one obverse Doubled die. But it doesn't look like yours.

Nothing listed on either mint on Variety Vista.

It not a real clear image, but it maybe just MD. Could you get an image of the date area closer. I could make a side by side of a normal coin and you coin to see if the devices are enlarged or MD. Then we will know.

Well I tried to see what I could do to fix your image. But I'm not sure yet.

I would try to take a focused close up shot of the date, it looks very interesting, like coop said it could be a MD and I think it's worth exploring it further, it may be a new DDO so let's not write it off yet.

Def not writing anything off cause the pics just aren't clear enough but I think it's extreme MD as well. Looks like a lds with a bunch of die scratches in it, esp. under the right side of the bust. If you zoom in real close you can see that the devices are reduced in size, esp on the lower part of the nine's. I think they are reduced in half almost which gives it the appearance of being doubled. Well see with some better pics.

If it's that severe then it's def a keeper for a good example piece at the very least.

On coop's enlargement of fishinfreak's coin the 992 looks like it is a DD although it might just be distortion causing an illusion.
Put another way: I don't know I'll wait for a better close up.

The difference? MD flattens devices. So what can make a device smaller or larger in the addition of color from flattening, or not seeing the full size of the devices because of the contour showing dark edges. Makes a difference because of how the light reacts to the device. So waiting for more images.
