This penny is indented on the Lincoln side, and pushed out on the other side so much that half the letters are missing.

Note the lines going in one direction.
It appears the metal from the lines was 'pushed' out of the way.
Die damage would leave a raised area, die wear would be non uniform, and filled die would be a lot smoother.

Post minting damage is the most likely cause.

At first glance I was going to say grease filled
but looking at the horizontal lines on the field,
I agree with PMD.

It was Struck Through Grease on the reverse.

Thank you all for responding. I was told that the horizontal lines are flow lines, and are normal as a coin ages. I've seen it on a lot of the newer ones.

Strangely I have 2 peenies the same way. I always collected older coins but recently am learning about errors etc.
