There were lots (and I mean LOTS) of coins, medals, tokens and other trinkets produced related to the Columbian Expo. Most are desirable and there are many collectors of these types of items. It's a nice piece and quite interesting. For a value I could only suggest an ebay search for comps.

Edited for spelling.

I have no idea on value, but want to say it is a very interesting piece. Thanks for sharing!

It may not be as old as it purports to be, but based on the photo inside, it is decently old (early 20th Century?) and also, apparently, sterling silver. It could be older, though, if the photo is contemporary with the "locket".

I'd say that's a nice catch.

It would be tempting to try and remove the photo, just to see if there is anything on the back.

Found an exact match of one that sold last month on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/World-Colu...047675.l2557

I sold for $100 plus $3.50 shipping. Details are nicer but it doesn't close properly

An even nicer example sold by Goldberg's with the mica inside intact https://www.goldbergcoins.com/view-...1/lot/54315/

Thanks—good to know on value—i saw one of same for $127—mine closes perfectly and has the insides which includes a silver holding band for the pic and of course the picture of the lady—which is really neat—makes you wonder who it is
