The stamp was printed by Spain in 1934 and it features Concepcion' Arenal. Concepción Arenal Ponte, of the 19th century, was a Spanish feminist writer and activist. Born in Ferrol, Galicia, she excelled in literature and was the first woman to attend university in Spain. She was also a pioneer and founder of the feminist movement in Spain. It is Scott #547.

The stamp worth about $1.00 or $2.00 with light cancellation or unused. I don't think Spain issued postal currency in the 1930's so this is a fantasy piece. Could have been distributed to volunteers at a pro woman convention or meeting.

No, they are officially issued emergency currency, issued by the Republican forces during the Spanish civil war. These items are listed in the Pick banknote catalogue.

Well, that's interesting to learn it is emergency currency instead. I wonder if the Pick banknote catalogue lists other denominated stamps than just the .15

I would suggest the online catalog on the Numista website if you wanted to see other examples, but it looks like their website is down at the moment.

I only have a 1986 edition of the Pick catalogue, so I don't know what the current editions have, but in mine, the basic type is listed as Pick #96, with different stamps given a different suffix. This one, with the 15 centimos "portrait" Postage Stamp, is listed as number 96H.

There's a note in the Pick catalogue, stating that the Republic government passed two decrees authorising these stamp-coins, but the only types mentioned in the decrees are 5, 10 and 25 centimos in the Postage Stamp series, and 10 and 15 centimos Revenue Stamps; other denominations "must be considered unofficial" but are listed alongside the "official" issues in the catalogue.
