Hey all, this guy is selling a supposed 1943 Copper Penny on ebay, does list it below as counterfeit, but his title states copper not plated. I questioned him about this post, he states he only worded it counterfeit because a flea market guy told him no copper pennies were made in 1943. But everything looks okay on it except the three (3). Looks a little flattened, possible shaved. What do y'all make of it?

As a rule of thumb, you should never buy a coin this valueable unauthenticated by a TPG. Think about it, if this guy really had a genuine 43 copper cent, why would he take a couple blurry photos and put it on ebay for a fraction of a fraction of what he could get if he just sent it in for grading? This is 99.9% not genuine, I dont even really need pictures to know this. Listing it under counterfeit because of what someone at a flea market told him? Its just too fishy Remember the saying: if it seems to good to be true, it is. Dont waste your money.

to CCF. Ask the seller what the weight is and if it sticks to a magnet. John1

Images are only about a half inch square, and the coin is only about a fifth of that. Way too small to tell anything about the coin.

Larger pics will help, although 99.99999999999% chance it's counterfeit.

As we all know, ebay can be pretty shady, when it comes to trying to buy "error" coins. Shady sellers tries to sucker someone into buying damaged coins for a huge profit. :-(

By far the worse pictures I have seen on coin community. You can barley tell it's even a Wheat cent.
