1998 Russia, 5 Rubles, catalog Y-606 - Yours has the St. Petersburg mint mark under the eagle's left wing.

It's worth about 8 cents, so you got short-changed a bit. ;)

I get the Canadian Pennies all the time, but this is a 1st for my quarter rolls.

I get Canadian Cents all of the time too. You still see a ton, even though they aren't being produced anymore.

It's definitely strange for a Russian coin to show up. No hockey players that I know of Mark - I'll have to keep my eyes open now. I don't think there are too many Hockey players around here in central Florida.

Check it on X-Ray, there might be a computer chip inside kinda GPS locator. If it has some reddish on the edges you might be able to peel the surface cover, like a wrapping paper. New Russian coins are different, not so easy to crack.

Watch out, they could be spying on you right now.
