tdziemia Pillar of the Community United States 7936 Posts	Posted 07/10/2018 9:45 pm It appears to be a token showing an equestrian Louis XIV (king of France) on the front (the second image). The legend around this side reads something like LUD XIIII D G FR ET NA REX. Possibly it is a "counting token" as the reverse does not look to me like any of the emblems used by royal France at this time. These were often made in brass. WOLF LAVFFER/LAUFFER/LAUFER C / CHR (Christian) LAUER, mostly 19th c. medals/medalets IIL / IL = Johann Jacob Lauer ICR, JCR, R = Johannes Christian Reich Member ANA - EAC - TNA - SSDC - CCT #890 "Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done." -- Louis D.
