Error On Dime/Lincoln Cent? - Coin Community Forum

connie0319 Valued Member United States 68 Posts	Posted 07/11/2018 12:07 am I found this dime, cant quite make out the date to me it appears to be 1985. I was hoping I could get input from anyone on their opinion of what they see... I hope the pictures are clear enough for everyone. I'm not sure if this is or isn't an error, if so what type of error? etc. Also I've attached a picture of a Lincoln Cent 1983D that appears to have a line going from the top backside of Lincolns head down to his throat area and a "mass" to the upper left of the date. The mint stamp appears to be doubled to me as well. Any opinion on this coin as well? Thanks so much !! Report this Post to the Staff

Errers and Varietys Bedrock of the Community United States 75012 Posts	Posted 07/11/2018 12:56 am Your Dime just shows Post Strike Damage (it happened after it left the U.S. Mint). It was dipped in acid, causing the metal to get thinner in width. The Lincoln Memorial cent has a Linear Plating Bubble. http://www.error-ref.com/blisteredplating/ Errers and Varietys.
