Hi CC,

I bought this medal for little and I'm wondering if anybody has an idea about it. The envelope seems to say in very faded pencil Feb, 1926.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you!

Looks to be some sort of centenary medal, looks really cool if you paid little.

I showed this to a Chinese friend of mine. He says it is a Chinese medal issued to commemorate the 100 anniversary of the birth of someone born in the month of February (year unknown, but can be translated from the symbol) and was made in the Republic of China, state of Hainan about 100 years ago. One side of the coin imitates a coin of the Dynasty of Tang (1000 years ago).
Made under administration of Republic of China (100 years ago. It was made for family members of the person it commemorates and not meant as a coin for circulation.
