I have a bunch of sacagawea coins. But one seems to not be like the others so I was wondering if someone could tell me if this is one of those experimental ones or if it just lost its shine. I put it side by side to a regular one so you can see. Then one pic is with the flash on so you can see it there too.

Circulation altered the color and shine. This happens quick on the circulated examples.

Environmental factors. Nearly all vending machines in the US could take Anthony dollars in 1999, and the vending companies successfully lobbied to have the new dollars have the same conductive signal as the old so counterfeit detectors didn't have to be replaced. The result was the inclusion of manganese in the Sac dollars, which is a very reactive metal and prone to tarnishing.

I'm surprised they haven't stopped making the $1.00 bills, Use the Dollar coins in the last spot on the left on the tills, and replace $2.00 bills where the ones were in the tills. Don't ask, just do it. Make it work, to save money.
