Just a well placed hit that caused the metal in the "G" of "GOD" to get pushed over and flattened. That's why it looks like an "O". It's Post Strike Damage.

It is a 57-D so could be a die chip just as the post break on the die has created the bottom lobe of the B to be filled. And look at the Mint Mark - can't tell for sure but is that an RPM?

As Tom said, "Good eye Mark" and I agree that it does look like an RPM! A full pic of the reverse as mentioned and a clear close up of the mint mark would help
