So I think I may have found a 44' error coin but it could be PMD too.

Any insight would help. Thanks guys!

If you are referring to the first 4 in the date, it appears that a hit from the top pushed the metal into a blob. Keep looking and have fun doing it!

To CCF , no error ,this coin was subjected to the most unthinkable abuse and on top of that was harshly cleaned .

Can't see a way to quote a post but T-Bop I see exactly what you're saying with the cleaning of the coin. I see if after your post as nearly most of the obverse is clean except the tiny right hand corner.

Thankyou all for your input

To CCF! That's Post Strike Damage unfortunately (it happened after it left the U.S. Mint). The metal was pushed over and flattened.
Errers and Varietys.
