The first is kinda "meh." Okay, if it's a real diamond then go for it.

The second is outrageous, especially since there were no 1958-S LWCs and the placement would be more extreme than any I have seen. In any case, there is no way it is worth half a million dollars. There is Best Offer, though...

Hi, E&V. You found sellers needing "BEWARE" tags. Thanks for the cautionary ebay sites you found for coin hobbyists to avoid. That's one of the down sides of free trade. I think CCF experts are helping coin hobbyists by notifying ebay about these types of sellers. Thanks for helping protect the coin community, E&V.

I agree with you Spruett. If it's a real diamond actually, than it wouldn't be so bad of a buy, but it could be easily fake of course. The second one is just a normal 1958 D LWC.

You're super welcome and no problem! I want to protect the coin community by posting these and pointing out that it's a bunch of boloney. I want to protect people from getting ripped off by these shady sellers, as they can sometimes get taken advantage of. And yes, CCF has actually helped ebay remove those shady listings. A lot of them got taken down, thank to us, and that's a good thing to do.

Item 2:
Offer 5 cents, not 10,000,000 cents.
That is legal. You may get beaten by a 10 cent offer, though.

Sel_69I, that's how much I would offer for that coin. Only 5 Cents. It's pretty funny, isn't it?

Jbuck, I feel the same as well as you do. There's a lot suckers born everyday on ebay. These are just the finest examples of them.

The seller of the "weak S" 1958 D cent will not accept anything under $100,000. So forget about you 5 and 10 cent offers!

PS: Are there any wheat cents of that era that DO have a "weak S"? Not that you can tell from the blurry pictures.

Just a bunch of junk and story making. There's no "Weak S" variety that I know of on a 1958 Lincoln Wheat cent. All of this was completely made up by the seller. Maybe he can become a screenwriter with this description!

Quote:
ACQUISITION OF THE "1958 D SAN FRANCISCO Lincoln WHEAT EAR CENT "S" MINT MARK. "CHAMPAGNE MINT ERROR COIN" has acquired a very special and rare commodity whereby in the following detailed synopsis the "1958 D San Francisco Wheat Ear Cent "S" Mint Mark" Commodity Coin is described in the foregoing auction.
HISTORY OF THE 1958 D SAN FRANCISCO Lincoln WHEAT EAR CENT "S" MINT MARK. The Professional Coin Grading Service ("PCGS") has been in existence for 30+ years and has graded and certified a combined total of over "2 BILLION COINS" by PCGS World Class Expert Graders renowned for their expertise as to authenciate, certify -and- grade numismatic coinage -and- mint error specimen(s). "Champagne Mint Error Coin" introduces again a previously graded -and- certified "1958 D Lincoln Wheat Ear Cent" with a weak-strike "S" Mint Mark that was submitted by the ("OWNER") of Champagne Mint Error Coin on October 12,2011 for authentication in regards to the ("specimen") being certified as a "1958 D SAN FRANCISCO Lincoln WHEAT EAR CENT" during this time period ("2010-2011"). The ("OWNER") of Champagne Mint Error Coin submit(s) the current information currently as to this (2nd Rare Opportunity) to have as to have the potential buyers to acquire this VERY RARE -and- SPECIAL ("AMERICAN COMMODITY") in the foregoing auction as follows.

And also this.

Quote:
PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER 1: Agreed. It is a "S" Mint Mark on the coin.

PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER 2: It looks like a "S" Mint Mark on the coin but I can't be certain. The grader's decision was "undecided".

PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER 3: No. It is not a "S" Mint Mark.

Please keep in mind that there has to be (2) PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER(S) to "CERTIFY" and "AGREE" to the coin having the "S" Mint Mark, but due to the 2nd PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER'S Decision being "UNDECIDED" before submitting the ("Specimen") to the 3rd PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER to render the final decision on the ("Specimen") the ("Specimen") was not ("CERTIFIED") by these events.

Champagne Mint Error Coin ("OWNER") is of the latter as to "believe" what is present on the "specimen" and the fact that the PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER 1 Decision to reflect the existence of the "S" MINT MARK which is characterized by the "Ball Serif" indicated on the "S" Mint Mark and the ("OWNER") is confidant in identifying a "S" mint mark on any surface of the planchet when encountered with the assurance of the PCGS Grader No. 1 decision. As such please review the attached photographs carefully of the ("S" MINT MARK") which is a ("WEAK STRIKE") on the planchet. The 1st auction of this ("specimen") during 2010 garnered 863 views and over 16 watchers within a 2 week online auction. But since this a wise investment for anyone's portfolio one should consider a final decision to have this great ("AMERICAN COMMODITY") to be apart of your diverse portfolio. I encourage any questions about the ("specimen") to be forward to (" ebay") or Champagne Mint Error Coin.
