This was posted elsewhere and is now buried in the pages.
It drives me a bit crazy trying to find out who made it and possibly any more info. Perhaps a thread of it's own will catch somebody's eye and shed some light on this.

Fellow member Gothic located a two medal set with a little more information. All we know now is there were 100 numbered sets with a 22kt Gold medal and a .999 1/4 troy oz medal like mine in a wooden box. No info yet on the actual individual mintage or who BT is.

I have found a similar Theodore Roosevelt 3 medal set, in 22K gold, a bronze version and a .999 1/4 troy oz medal in a box that clearly states 100 sets. That set has similar literature and wooden box and those medals also have "BT" on the reverse.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post and for your thoughts.

jbuck, I never did find out who made this set or medal other than there were only 100 numbered sets made. There may or may not have been more silver made than gold, but I would bet that there were only 100 gold made.
I would love to find a boxed set like that pictured. Since I posted this, I bought my 5th silver medal, all from the same seller. That was quite awhile ago and I look for these often. Never saw another for sale.

I'd appreciate knowing if anyone else has one of these that reads this post, or if anyone knows more about them. Thanks

Well, thought I'd bump this buried topic.

I can only report that I have never seen another since and still look for these several times a week.
All five I have came from the same seller. I am beginning to think that at one time, somebody broke up the sets and kept or sold off the gold ones and these were lucky to come my way.

I never saw a Theodore Roosevelt set or single with the BT initials either.

I found a couple engravers marks that look very much the same in style as that showing on the reverse of this medal.
Initials are BT

I have never seen another since buying these 5 medals and still have no new information. Just thought I'd give it a bump. I look all the time so I am more confident these are quite rare.
Anyone? Thank you.

Here's a copy and paste of a response to a letter I wrote to the RCM asking if they knew if Brent Townsend had anything to do with designing this medal. It took them a month or two to answer. But they did respond.

Quote:
Thank you for contacting the Royal Canadian Mint.

Regarding your recent inquiry about the 2000 225th anniversary 1/4 troy oz .999 silver medal, firstly we would like to apologize for the delay in response. We did reach out to the appropriate department in search of answers for you. They did some digging around but would appear that the medal would not have been produced by the Royal Canadian Mint.
They advised that although it is possible that Brent Townsend designed the medal, it is very unlikely that we produced it here at the Mint. The coin does not have any connection to Canada, and would not meet the standards to produce it at the RCM.
